Employee benefits are non-monetary compensation granted to employees as a condition of employment. Employee benefits may be required by law (depending on the risk connected with the work or industry, as well as the regulations of the country where the employment is held) or offered by the employer voluntarily.

Pensions, sick pay, insurance coverage, corporate automobiles, and a variety of additional 'bonuses' are among the employee benefits (Armstrong, 2007).

Six Different Type of Employee Benefits & Incentives.

1.         Benefits That Are Required by Law,

When putting together a package, the first thing you'll want to include are any plans that are mandated by law.

2.         Medical Insurance,

One of the most common job benefits is medical insurance. However, there is no universal medical insurance standard. This is due to the fact that insurance policies change from one provider to the next.

3.         Life Insurance,

Life insurance is another popular employment benefit offered to attract new hiring and assist and safeguard employees. There are several types of life insurance policies available.

4.         Retirement Plans,

Many employers still contribute to their employees' retirement plans. It's also important to note that pension plans are often reserved for employees who have worked for a company for a long time.

5.         Disability Insurance,

Another form of employment perk that helps to an employee's general well-being is health insurance.

I.          Short Term Disability.

II.         Long term disability Insurance.

6.         Fringe Benefits,

Employers provide a variety of additional fringe benefits. This helps them stand out from the competition and deliver a more comprehensive service.

Five Reasons For Offer Employee Benefits

1.         Attract Talented Employees.

You need employee benefits to be competitive with hiring. If you don't offer a benefits package, you'll likely lose the best candidates to companies who do. Because a benefits program can be a decisive factor for many workers when deciding where to work. It's a significant element of their whole remuneration package.

2.         Minimize Employee Turnaround.

A strong benefits package might avoid your employees from being swayed by alternative employment offers when it comes to hiring. When you provide benefits, your employees will feel more confident about the company (and their jobs), and they will be less likely to start sending out resumes.

3.         Maintain Healthy Workforce.

You can prevent your entire team from becoming infected by encouraging employees to stay home when they are unwell.

Sick leave allows your employees to focus on recovering and getting better. So, instead of fighting to work through illness for days or even weeks, an employee can go away for a day or two and return refreshed and ready to work.

4.         Boost Employee Productivity.

A strong benefits package can help you attract brilliant employees, retain them over time, and create a healthy staff. What is the inevitable outcome of all of this is More efficiency.

You'll have hired a more talented and motivated team that can work hard and get things done. Employees will have been with you long enough to build good workflow and processes. You'll also have helped your employees stay healthy, allowing them to be physically productive.

Benefits will also give your staff the mental space they need to stay productive. Your employees will be less concerned about health care costs, retirement planning, child care, and other issues that benefits can help with. This means they have more mental capacity and motivation to put to use.

5.         Enjoy Better Worker Morale.

A strong benefits package can boost employee morale, resulting in a more productive workplace. Giving your staff benefits will make them feel like you care about their personal needs. As a result, employee loyalty and satisfaction may improve. They'll give it their all-in work.

When you have job opportunities, happy, loyal employees will speak favorably of your company, making it simpler to attract talent. Then, thanks to your excellent perks, those new employees will stay.
